GALWAY UNITED
Galway welcome Bohemians to Eamonn Deacy Park for the second time in three days, this time it is the EA Sports Cup that will keep the masses entertained on Monday evening.
Last Friday saw an eight goal thriller unfold with Tommy Dunne’s men ultimately coming out on top in what was a tough encounter for both sides. Having seen his side pick up the three points over a ten man Bohs team last Friday night, the former Cork City boss is fully aware that Bohs will see this as an opportunity to gain some revenge.
"We've to go against Bohemians again now on Monday to get to the EA SPORTS Cup semi-final. It's a tough ask for both clubs but we're looking forward to it greatly.
"We know Bohemians are going to have a good-go at us after the other night. They'll be looking to turn us over but we'll be concentrating on progressing to the semi-final. We've got to make sure that we're focused on the game and that we work as hard as we did the other night, if not harder,” explained Dunne.
In terms of suspensions the home side are not missing anyone to disciplinary problems while on the other hand Alex Byrne is set to return to the fray having missed the last two games through suspension.
In injuries Killian Cantwell, Andy O’Connell, Sam Oji and Conor Barry are all still firmly in located in the treatment room whilst in more positive news Jason Molloy could be inline from a recall having sorted out a recent toe injury. Marc Ludden is rated as doubtful for the visit of the Gypsies.
With the games set to come thick and fast for all Premier Division clubs over the summer months Tommy Dunne is well aware that his players bodies may start to seize up, something which he can ill afford to happen with the Tribesmen ever growing injury contingent.
BOHEMIANS
Bohs manager Keith Long will bring his side to Galway hoping to see an improved performance, but more importantly hoping that this time his team leaves with a victory and an EA Sports Cup Semi Final place in the bag.
With no team news or managerial comments available it is hard to know how the Gypsies will line up in this fixture or whether or not Long will try and rotate his squad ahead of the visit of Bray to Dalymount Park on Friday night.
Before Friday night’s slip up, Bohs had gone on an unbeaten run that had stretched back to April 17th five games seeing either draws or victories across all competitions.
Despite being sent off in the dying moments on Friday it is still possible for Dean Delaney to appear between the sticks on Monday evening as his automatic suspension only occurs in SSE Airtricity League matches, thus leaving Bohs free of suspension problems for this contest.
