FAI Cup Report: Bray Wanderers 0 - 1 Cork City

Cork City earned a place in the final of the 2015 FAI Senior Cup, courtesy of Danny Morrissey's crucial goal against Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday afternoon.
The young City forward was a constant menace to the Bray defence with his quick pace and he got the game's winning goal on the hour mark. He was sent clear on goal after a flick from Gary Buckley. Morrissey did the rest by beating Peter Cherrie to the ball and finishing into the bottom left hand corner.

Overall, Cork did enough to win the game and they probably should have scored more goals. They made hard work for themselves though and if it wasn't for a late save from Mark McNulty to deny an Emeka Onwubiko shot, this tie could have gone to a replay.
After what was a rather dull opening to the game, Cork started to impose their authority on proceedings and in the 27th minute, they had a great chance to go in front. Karl Sheppard blazed over the bar from close range, after Ross Gaynor picked him out after his own shot was originally saved by Cherrie.
Bray were a threat on the counter attack all throughout the game, but in the end they just didn't create enough in the final third to cause the Leesiders major problems.
Chris Lyons was probably their biggest attacking threat, but he and his Wanderers team mates will think that they could have taken the game to a replay. Late on, Graham Kelly's shot went just wide while substitute Onwubiko was also a late threat.

As the second half wore on, Cork had a great chance to add to their lead, when John O'Flynn's header from a Buckley cross from the left was tipped over by Cherrie.
Cork have now ensured that the top two sides in the Premier Division will face off in the decider at the Aviva Stadium on November the 8th, after Dundalk's semi final victory over Longford Town on Friday. It promises to be a cracker of a game and should be a fantastic advert for domestic Irish football.
