KILLESTER UNITED
Leinster Senior League side Killester United will be seeking to cause a cup upset, when they host League of Ireland First Division side Cobh Ramblers at Haddan Park at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon.
They qualified for the FAI Cup as a result of reaching the FAI Intermediate Cup last 16, where they lost to St Mary’s.
To reach the 2nd round stage of this competition, they were victorious over Dunboyne at home, courtesy of a 3-0 score line. It was a strong second half performance from Killester and goals on the day came from David Lacey, Dylan O’Driscoll and David Fitzsimons.
COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh Ramblers have kick started their season since Stephen Henderson took charge in April.
Cobh drew 2-2 in the league last weekend away to Cabinteely after coming from two goals down.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams and with a clash with Munster rivals Waterford United to come next weekend, Rambler’s boss Stephen Henderson will be keen to avoid a replay, which would take place on Monday back in Cobh is required.
Cobh have midfielder Graham McCarthy suspended. Striker Jonathan Creamer is a doubt with a medial knee ligament injury and looks set to miss the game. Andrew Bhandarker and Dave Browne will also miss the game through injury.
Referee: Simon Rogers.
