FINN HARPS
Finn Harps head into the gameagainst Cobh Ramblers on Friday night in a confident frame of mind, having lost just one game out of their last eight. Harps have also won their last two games, against Waterford United and Shamrock Rovers B.
Ramblers are currently bottom of the First Division table but Harps’ manager Ollie Horgan is fully aware of the improved form that Cobh have been in during the last few games and he expects a tough game on Friday night.
“Cobh are on a great run as they have recently drawn with Shelbourne and beat Shamrock Rovers comfortably. Last week they very narrowly lost out in Wexford. They have added hugely to their squad with a new look side with great attacking options along with the likes of Rob Waters and Martin Deady already there”, said Horgan.
Harps have no injury worries ahead of the game, but Michael Funston and Sean McCarron are suspended. Although midfielder Mark Forker announced his decision to leave the club during the week, Harps have added former UCD man Gerard O’Callaghan to their ranks.
COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh plan on doing the 600 mile round trip to Donegal to play Finn Harps in the one day and manager Martin Cambridge will be hoping his side can get something to take home with them from Friday’s game.
Ramblers were unlucky to lose to 2-1 to Wexford last weekend, in a game which was their first defeat in four, as Martin Deady levelled matters at 1-1 before Ron Stanton was denied by the post.
“I suppose we were a little unlucky but we played well apart from the mistakes” said Cambridge.
Midfielder Robbie Waters is out through suspension, while George Gill (ankle) and Eoin Hastings (hamstring) are missing because of injuries.
