Extratime Bets - Week 7

Credit:

Waterford's inability to score against Mervue last weekend cost me a chunk of the early profit I built up, but nevertheless I'm still comfortably €120 up, which is good going this early in the season.

This week I'm looking to get back to winning ways and I think CORK CITY are the team to do it for me.

They take on Monaghan in Turner's Cross on Friday night and both teams will be desperate to pick up their first win of the season and I think it's Tommy Dunne's men who are the more likely to get it.

Cork have been somewhat unlucky so far this season, particularly at home. They would have beaten league champions Shamrock Rovers but for an injury time equaliser and they should have beaten Drogheda after leading 2-0 only to lost 3-2 after having a man sent off.

Roddy Collins' men on the other hand have lost to Shamrock Rovers and were beaten last week at home by Drogheda. Collins talked about his side going 'into a battle' for this game and I fear that it is side who won't be able to cope.

Looking at the league table it is hard to separate the teams with points and even goal difference matching up. Cork have a bit more class about them and in front of a noisy Turner's Cross I think they will deliver their first win back in the Premier Division.

Good luck!
