Bray Wanderers -v- Derry City

BRAY WANDERERS

Pat Devlin’s Bray Wanderers will be a few aces short of a full deck going into their game against Derry City at the Carlisle Grounds this Friday night. They were missing several first team players for their 1-0 defeat to St. Pat’s last weekend and those worries continue for the Seagulls.

After being sent off in their opening League game, Dave Webster joins an absentee list that includes long term injury concerns Shane O'Connor (groin), Daire Doyle (ankle) and Stephen Brennan (hamstring).

There are doubts over the fitness of centre half Adam Mitchell, who missed the game at Richmond Park with a groin injury, but Kevin Knight returns after international duty with the Irish Under 19 team and Stephen Last could make his return to the first team line up.

Recent history does not favour the home team. The visitors have taken three points home with them on each of their last three visits to Bray and Devlin expects them to be a huge challenge again.

“We need to improve”, he said. “It will be tough but it’s our first home game and hopefully the lads can get us three points and set us on our way.”

DERRY CITY

Derry City got their League campaign off to a flying start with a 1-0 win against Bohemians at the Brandywell. Stephen McLaughlin scored the goal that bagged them all three points against ten man Bohs.

Manager Declan Devine will not take Bray lightly, but it is a great chance for his team to make it two wins out of two, with each team’s form being at opposite end of the spectrum.

Derry are still without the injured Kevin Deery and Brian McGroary due to injuries but Owen Morrison and Rory Patterson could both feature for the Candystripes.

Referee: Anthony Buttimer.
