Mulcahy set to reach a century

St. Patrick’s Athletic stalwart Dave Mulcahy is in line to make his 100th appearance for the club, if he togs out against Dundalk in Richmond Park this Friday night. Mulcahy, a senior member of Pete Mahon’s squad, has lined out 99 times in four seasons with the Saints.
The Kilkenny native has become an instrumental pillar in the Saint’s midfield, impressing many with strong performances in last year’s campaign, earning himself a spot in Damien Richardson’s Airtricity XI who challenged Manchester United in the first game in the Aviva Stadium back in 2010. It was this occasion where the ex-Bray Wanderers player made history, as the only player to score in the last game at Lansdowne Road along with scoring the first goal in the Aviva Stadium.
Mulcahy also popped up with some important goals for the Saints in last years’ impressive League campaign, including a dramatic late equaliser against Bohemians in Dalymount Park. Making his debut against Waterford in 2006, Mulcahy has notched up ten goals in his St. Pats career, only one of which has been scored in front of the home crowd.
Speaking to www.stpatsfc.com, Saints manager Pete Mahon is full of praise for his midfielder.
“It is a great milestone for Dave. As one of the senior players in the current squad, he is an important player to have on and off the field and he has a great presence around the Club.”
