Nottingham Forest has confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Santos began his professional career at Vasco da Gama, making his debut in March 2021 at the age of 16.

During his time with Vasco, Santos played an integral role in helping the team achieve promotion to Brazil's top-flight in 2022, registering eight goals in 33 matches.

On the international stage, Santos captained Brazil's U20 team to victory in the South American Championship, where he was joint-top goalscorer.

His performances earned him a call-up to Brazil's senior team, and he made his full international debut against Morocco.

After joining Chelsea earlier this year, Santos was loaned back to Vasco for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

He then made a series of appearances for Chelsea during their pre-season under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

On his move to Nottingham Forest, Santos commented, "I am very happy and excited to be here. Forest is a big club with a rich history. I'm looking forward to the experience."

Ross Wilson, Nottingham Forest’s Chief Football Officer, added, "Securing a player of Andrey's talent is significant for us. We're pleased he and Chelsea chose Nottingham Forest for his development."
