Gustavsson swaps Cobh for New Zealand

Cobh Ramblers have announced that striker Markus Gustavsson has left the club in order to move to New Zealand.

The Swede joined Ramblers at the beginning of 2016 having impressed while playing for Castleview in the Munster Senior League after making his way through the local leagues in Cork.

27-year-old Gustavsson made 15 league appearances for the Rams, including 12 starts, scoring five goals as Stephen Henderson's side continue to mount a challenge for the play-off spots.

Announcing Gustavsson's departure, Cobh tweeted, "We would like to thank him for his time here and we wish him the best of luck in the future!"

The Rams have been active in recruitment this summer with striker Connor Ellis and midfielder Craig Donnelan arriving on loan from Cork City last month.
