LONGFORD TOWN

Longford Town can move off bottom spot on Monday night when they host Treaty United at Bishopsgate (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Red and Black sit on seven points at the foot of the table but are just two points behind ninth-placed Kerry with a game in hand.

And their home tie against Treaty United is their game in hand with the original fixture meant to have taken place on March 16 before it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Since then, Longford have claimed their first win of the season and come into Monday’s game off the back of a narrow loss 3-2 away to Finn Harps on Friday.

But they remain with a lengthy injury list as Karl Chambers, Jamie Egan, Dean George, Chris Lyons, Adam Wixted and Aaron Walsh are still out.

Defender Oisin Hand returned to the bench on Friday night but is unlikely to start against Treaty.

TREATY UNITED

Out-of-sorts Treaty United visit Bishopsgate on Monday evening looking to bring an end to their winless run.

The Shannonsiders are winless in 11 league outings - with their most recent victory coming against Kerry in March.

Tommy Barrett’s side have also lost four of their last five league games.

Although, they have won three games this season compared to Longford’s one - and two of those three wins came on their travels against the Kingdom and UCD.

That run has seen them slip back to eighth place, sitting on 13 points after 14 games - leaving them eight points off the play-off positions.

But their cause has not been helped by a crippling injury list.

And they are expected to remain with Willie Armshaw, Leon Kirrane, Enda Curran and David Tarmey for their trip to Longford.

Referee: Gavin Colfer.
