League of Ireland Attendances - Gameweek 2

18,113. That’s the number of people that passed through the turnstiles for Gameweek 1 of the Artricity League of Ireland 2015. After acquiring all ten official tallies, the figures showed an average of 2,508 per Premier Division game and 766 per First Division fixture.

So far for Gameweek 2, we have six official figures and four estimates. We will continue to push to get all ten official attendances (if clubs wish to register their official attendances they can email us at extratimeLive@gmail.com). Our estimates are taken from a number of sources who were in attendance and then averaged out.

The largest attendance for Gameweek 2 comes as no surprise. Cork City had an excellent home crowd last season and the trend continued as they welcomed Limerick to Turner’s Cross. 4,817 punters pushed through the turnstiles to watch a 5-0 demolition of the Superblues.

The largest First Division crowd was in Finn Park as Harps welcomed and defeated new boys Cabinteely FC. If our Drogheda United estimate is accurate then they will have registered a larger attendance than a Premier Division game. It will be the second week running that Cabo have been ahead of Premier Division in terms of viewing figures.

The total audience for Gameweek 2 was 15,248 which is just under 3,000 down from the opening weekend. The breakdown of the week in attendance figures is as follows:
