League of Ireland Attendances 2014 - Gameweek 3

Gameweek 3 showed an increase in attendances from the previous week but still some distance from the lofty heights of the opening weekend. The third week saw a gain of 2,722 on Gameweek 2 but still 7,659 down on the 20,066 of Gameweek 1.

The top crowd of the weekend came at Dalymount Park were Bohemians lost out to Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers by three goals to one. 3,403 spectators saw the Hoops take all three points and the bragging right over their opponents.

In the First Division, Shamrock Rovers also featured in the biggest crowd of the weekend as Galway drew 0-0 in front of 1,027 punters.

The lowest crowd of the weekend and our only estimated crowd was the encounter between Wexford Youths and Longford Town.

So, after three weeks the attendance count is 42,158.

We’d like your opinions and thoughts on how League of Ireland could improve these figures? What are they doing wrong, what are they doing right or how could they lure more through the turnstile. Comments welcome below.
