Gavin Peers - Sligo Rovers
About Gavin Peers
Gavin began his career at Blackburn Rovers before moving to Mansfield Town where he made 30 league appearances. In February 2006 Sean Connor brought Gavin to Sligo Rovers on a free transfer following the club's promotion to the Premier Division at the end of the previous season.
In his debut season at The Showgrounds Gavin played at full back as Sligo finished fifth in the league, but in 2007 he made the switch to centre back. He went on to make over 200 league appearances for the Bit O' Red and appeared in three FAI Cup finals, picking up winners medals in 2010 and 2011. He also won a League Cup winners medal in 2010 when Sligo defeated Monaghan United 1-0 in the final.
Gavin has been capped for Ireland at under-age and U23 levels and was chosen to represent the league in the summer of 2010 against a Manchester United XI at the Aviva Stadium.
