About Barry Molloy

Barry began his career at Derby County in 1999 and spent four years there, winning the Young Player of the Year award in 2002. In 2003 he returned to Ireland on loan, signing for Drogheda United in late August, where he made 16 league appearances over the final months of the 2003 season.

In 2004 Barry signed a permanent deal at Drogheda and made a further 24 league appearances, scoring three times. He moved on at the end of the season, signing for Stephen Kenny at Derry City at the start of the 2005 season. He was with the Candystripes through five League Cup winning campaigns and the FAI Cup winning campaign of 2006.

Following Derry's collapse at the end of 2009, Barry went on trial at Bristol Rovers, but he returned home to continue playing with a reconstituted Derry City in the First Division. He added 30 league appearances to his career total that year as Derry claimed the First Division title, and made another 24 league appearances in 2011.
