David McDaid - Derry City
About David McDaid
David started his career as a teenager at Derry City in 2007. On 29 July 2008 he signed on loan for Paul Cook at Sligo Rovers until the end of the '08 season, making 9 appearances for the Bit O' Red and scoring once in a 4-0 win over Cobh Ramblers at the Showgrounds.
At the start of 2009 Davy was out on loan again, this time at Finn Harps where he scored on his league debut for the club in a 1-1 away draw at Kildare County on the opening day of the season. He went on to score twice in 12 league outings for the First Division side before returning to Brandywell in the summer of '09.
Davy made 5 league appearances for Derry in the remainder of 2009, scoring once, in a 2-1 home defeat against his former loan side Sligo Rovers. But in 2010 Davy came into his own when Derry were expelled from the league before being reincarnated in the First Division. He scored six times in 28 league appearances as the Candystripes took the First Division title.
In 2011 the form of Eamon Zayed kept Davy largely on the Derry bench. He made 2 starts in the league, adding 22 appearances as a substitute, and scored two league goals, also scoring against Mervue United in the EA Sports Cup.
