About Ryan Brennan

Ryan played all the way up through the underage system at Drogheda Boys and joined the Drogheda United Youth side in 2007.

In 2010 Ryan made his league debut for Drogheda, coming on as a substitute against Dundalk on 14th March. He made his first full start two weeks later in a 2-2 draw with Sligo Rovers at Hunky Dorys Park. He made a total of 29 Premier Division appearances over the season but Drogheda finished bottom of the league and were relegated. The subsequent demise of Sporting Fingal spared Drogheda the drop but by then Ryan had gone, signing for Mick Cooke at Monaghan United for 2011. Cooke left Monaghan shortly before the season started, moving to Drogheda, but Ryan scored six times in 23 league appearances under Roddy Collins who led the club to promotion via the play-offs.

In 2012 Ryan was back at Drogheda United, again signing for Mick Cooke. He went on to play 24 league games, scoring three goals, as Drogheda finished second in the league. The following year he played another 29 games for the club and scored another six goals. This time, though, Drogheda finished a disappointing seventh and in December 2013 Ryan moved to Shamrock Rovers.

Ryan made twenty-four appearances for Shamrock Rovers in the league, scoring three goals in the process, as Rovers secured European football with a fourth place finish.
