About Ian Bermingham

Ian Bermingham developed at Dublin side Lourdes Celtic before signing for UCD in April 2007. He went straight into the first team squad and made his debut as a late substitute against Waterford United on 6 April 2007. Ian made his first start for the club in a League Cup game against Kildare County later that month and quickly became a first team regular, making 46 league appearances over the next two seasons

In February 2009 Ian signed for Michael O'Neill at Shamrock Rovers and made a total of 18 appearances for the Hoops in their inaugural season at Tallaght Stadium.

The following year, in January 2010, Ian hooked up with his former UCD boss Pete Mahon when he signed for St Patrick's Athletic. He made 52 league appearances over the next two years, scoring once, and when new boss Liam Buckley took over at Richmond Park prior to the 2012 season, Ian signed up for a third year with the club. He made a further 26 league appearances in 2012 and played in the Pats team that was beaten in the FAI Cup final by Derry City. In 2013 Ian was ever present as Pats won their seventh League title.
