About Owen Heary

Owen made his league debut in the 1993/94 season during which he made 16 league appearances for Kilkenny City. The following season he turned out for Home Farm where he stayed for four years, winning the First Division Shield and making 111 league appearances.

In the Autumn of 1998 Owen moved to Shelbourne and he stayed at Tolka Park for nine seasons. He made 274 league appearances (a club record) in that time and won five league titles along with an FAI Cup winners medal.

Owen joined Bohemians in January 2007, following a decision by a tribunal that he was free to leave Shelbourne following the well documented financial troubles at the club.

A further two league titles followed at Dalymount Park, along with a second FAI Cup medal and, having made over 100 league appearances for the Gypsies, he remains a first team regular.
