About Eric Foley

Eric is a product of the Home Farm youth system and signed as a youth player with Celtic in 2006. He spent four years in Glasgow before being brought home by Liam Buckley who signed him for Sporting Fingal in the summer transfer window of 2009.

In January of 2010 he moved to Shelbourne where he became a key member of the Shels midfield. He made 18 league appearances for the Reds that year and scored six league goals.

At he start of the 2011 season Eric was signed by Mick Cooke at Monaghan United. He made his Monaghan debut in familiar territory at Tolka Park on the opening day of the 2011 season, scoring in a 1-1 draw against his former club Shelbourne.

2011 proved to be a successful year for Eric as he made 33 league appearances, scoring three times, in a season that ended with Monaghan winning promotion to the Premier Division.

Having taken part in Monaghan's pre-season programme, Eric left the club to sign for Mick Cooke at Drogheda United on 20 February 2012.
