About Pat Fenlon
Pat "Nutsy" Fenlon is a football manager and a former Irish footballer.
Playing Career
Fenlon began his playing career with St. Patrick's Athletic, debuting against Shelbourne at Harold's Cross Stadium on 13 September 1987. He won a League winners medal in 1989-1990 with St Pat's.
In 1991, he moved to Dublin side Bohemians and after two seasons, in 1993, travelled north to Linfield.
In 1996, Fenlon joined his boyhood club Shamrock Rovers but only spent a single season with the Hoops before joining Ringsend rivals Shelbourne in 1997. He would play until 2003 with the Reds, before taking over as manager of the club in 2002.
Managerial Career
In 2002, Pat Fenlon became Shelbourne player-manager, succeeding Dermot Keely in the post. After guiding the club to 2nd place in the league, he retired from playing and focused on management. He lead Shels to back to back league titles in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, the club finished 3rd in the League but a year later Fenlon won his 3rd League title as a manager. On 5th December 2006, Fenlon resigned from Shels and days later moved to Derry City.
Fenlon's Derry City career was short lived, and after five months in the job, he resigned. After a few months break, Fenlon was appointed Bohemians manager on 22nd December 2007, after Sean Connor left the club. His first season saw him win a league and cup double. He went on to win the league again in 2009.
On 25th November 2011, Fenlon signed for Scottish club Hibernian, just under two years after Dundee United had attempted to appoint the Dubliner.
