Brian’s Biography

Brian, a towering central defender who also has an All-Ireland basketball medal to his name, signed professional terms with Athlone Town on July 20th 2006, having graduated from the club's Youth Team.

Two years later, “Macca” joined Bohemians in the Premier Division but went out on loan to Cobh Ramblers in May, making his debut for the Rams in a 1-0 defeat away to Bray Wanderers on May 2nd. He played 9 league games up to the end of his loan at the end of June. At the start of 2009 he left Bohemians to join Longford Town, initially on a six month loan deal, where he made 11 league appearances in the centre of Longford's defence.

In 2010 Brian returned for a second spell at Athlone Town where he made 24 league appearances, scoring once. He then signed for Pat Scully at Limerick FC for the 2011 season and formed a solid partnership with Pat Purcell at the heart of the Limerick back line. He made 22 league appearances for the Shannonsiders and scored two league goals.

Brian returned for another stint at Athlone Town in January 2012, making 25 league appearances and scoring once, in a 2-1 win over Finn Harps. Brian took part in Athlone's pre-season in 2013 but he was not signed by new boss Roddy Collins and in mid February he joined Tony Cousins at Longford Town.
