Cathal’s Biography

Cathal was part of the Ipswich Town side which lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2004/05 season, scoring two goals in the semi-final win over Southampton. He also spent time on trial at Bradford City during the 2005/06 season.

Having signed for Cork City in July 2006, Cathal went on loan to Waterford United during the July 2007 transfer window. He made 10 league appearances for The Blues but was released by Cork at the end of the 2007 season.

Cathal spent the next two and a half years with his boyhood club Ballincollig and local Cork side Blarney United before re-signing for Cork City (as Cork City Foras Co-op) at the start of the 2010 season. He made 10 league appearances that season but, having suffered an injury, Cathal was not offered a contract for 2011.

In August 2011 Cathal had recovered his fitness and re-signed for Cork City, making 3 substitute appearances as the Rebels won the 2011 First Division title. He made just 3 substitute appearances in 2012 as City returned to the Premier Division and, at the end of September, Cathal left Cork to sign for Munster Senior League side UCC.
