John’s Biography

John is a goalkeeper who started his League of Ireland career at Kilkenny City in 2005 where he made 14 league appearances under manager Pat Scully. In January 2006 he followed Scully to Shamrock Rovers but made only 1 league appearance over the season and returned to Kilkenny on loan in 2007.

He made 17 league appearances back at Buckley park but in July 2007 he returned to Shamrock Rovers , making 3 more league appearances for the Hoops over the latter half of the season.

At the end of 2007 John was released by Shamrock Rovers and he signed for Shelbourne in February 2008. He failed to make a league appearance at Tolka Park and made a summer move to Longford Town where he appeared just once in the league, a 5-1 defeat away to Monaghan United.

At the start of 2009 John made the short journey to midlands rivals Athlone Town and he made 12 league appearances for them over the season before rejoining Pat Scully, this time at Limerick FC, for 2010. John sat on the bench 26 times as goalkeeping cover that year, making only 1 league appearance, a 5-1 win away to ex-club Athlone Town on 30 October.
