Fiachra’s Biography

Fiachra joined Derby County in 1998 aged just fifteen and graduated through their academy, being promoted to the first team in 2001. However, he didn't make the breakthrough and was released, returning home in the spring of 2003. In 2003 Fiachra signed for Liam Buckley at Shamrock Rovers and made his debut against Bray Wanderers on 10 May 2004.

Fiachra's progress at Rovers was hampered by injury and he made just 9 appearances for the club before joining his hometown club Dundalk at the start of the 2005 season. He was soon on the move again, joining John Gill at Athlone Town for the latter half of the '05 season. The following year he returned to Dundalk, signing on at Oriel Park for the start of the 2006 season. His stay was, again, short lived, and Fiachra was released by the Lilywhites in July of '06.

In 2007 Fiachra pitched up at Kildare County where he spent one season before re-joining Liam Buckley, this time at league newcomers Sporting Fingal. He made 25 appearances for the Ravens in their debut league season. The following year he was part of the Fingal squad that won the FAI Cup, beating Sligo Rovers 2-1 in the final, and that won promotion to the Premier Division. But by the start of 2010 Fiachra had left Fingal and joined First Division side Longford Town.

He stayed at Flancare Park for just six months, leaving in June of 2010 and he now lives and plays in Australia.

Fiachra McArdle was released by Dundalk FC at the start of July 2006. Transferred for Dundalk from Athlone Town in December 2005. Fiachra joined Sporting Fingal in 2008. Fiachra was released by Longford Town in 2010.
