Pat’s Biography

Pat started his career at UCD in 2002 where he played until the end of the 2004 season, making 95 league appearances and scoring three league goals.

In 2005 he signed for Drogheda United and spent two years at United Park. But, although it was a successful period for the club, Pat suffered from injuries throughout his time there.

He signed for Longford Town in 2007. The club were relegated from the Premier Division at the end of the season but they also reached the FAI Cup final in which Pat played in the 1-0 defeat to Cork City. By the start of the following season Pat was playing in City's colours having followed Longford manager Alan Mathews in a move to the south coast.

Pat made 41 league appearances for Cork but in a time of financial turmoil at the club he was released in the summer of 2009 and signed for Shamrock Rovers under manager Michael O'Neill. Early in 2010 Pat suffered a cruciate ligament injury in a game against Galway United at Terryland Park which kept him out of the side for the remainder of the 2010 season, in which Rovers went on to win the league title.

2011 was a hugely successful season for Pat. He won his second league medal as Rovers retained their league crown and scored a spectacular goal in the club's 2-1 win over Partizan Belgrade, a result that made Rovers the first Irish team ever to qualify for the group stages of a European competition. He made 32 league appearances and played in all 12 of Rovers' European games.

In January 2012 it was announced that Pat would be quitting league football to spend time travelling in Australia but, on his return, he re-signed for the Hoops in June of that year. His return came in a 1-1 draw away to Dundalk on 13 July and he made 11 league appearances over the second half of the season. Pat was again heavily involved in 2013, making 23 league appearances and winning Setanta and EA Cup winner's medals as Rovers lifted both trophies.

In January 2014 Sullivan signed for Longford Town. He made twenty-four appearances for the club as they won the First Division title and were promoted. Pat re-signed for the 2015 season in the Premier Division. He went on to make twenty-seven league appearances, scoring once in 4-2 win over Derry City in the last game of the season, as Longford finished sixth in the Premier Division. He left the club at the end of the season.
