Kevin’s Biography

Kevin started his League of Ireland career at Finn Harps in 1998 and scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Fanad United in a League Cup tie in August of that year. He made 34 league appearances during his first two years at the club and was loaned out to Omagh Town in 2000/01, scoring three times in 8 league appearances for the Irish League side.

On his return to Harps he set about establishing his cult hero status at the club, scoring 24 league goals in 2001/02 and 22 as Harps won the First Division title in 2004. His first spell at Finn Park lasted eight years during which time he scored 106 league goals in 184 league appearances.

In 2006 Kevin signed for Derry City where he spent the next three seasons, scoring 12 times in 88 league appearances. But in January 2009 he took up the challenge of playing for Irish League side Linfield. He spent just one season at Windsor Park, scoring four times in 26 league outings.

In February 2010 kevin returned to Finn Harps, making his first appearance on the opening weekend of the new season as Harps lost 3-2 to Longford Town at Flancare Park. He marked his second outing, against Salthill Devon, with a goal and went on to claim 12 league goals that year, adding 11 more in 2011, bringing his career total at Finn harps to 141. Kevin's tally continued to rise in the following season and he netted thirteen more league goals in 2012 and another eight in 2013. His contribution was limited in 2014 due to injury but he still managed to score twice in 2014 from 16 league appearances.

In December 2014 Kevin announced that the next season, 2015, would be his last in League of Ireland football. He made 26 league appearances, scoring nine goals in the process, before playing all four play-off games as Finn Harps were promoted to the Premier Division after overcoming UCD and Limerick. However, the end was not quite nigh and with Premier Division football proving too much of a temptation, Kevin re-signed with Harps for 2016. He made a further 17 league appearances and scored once as Harps retained their place in the top tier but Kevin's season (and career) ended in October when a freak training ground accident led to him losing a finger.

Kevin officially retired from playing at the end of the 2016 season and was then appointed manager of Finn Harp's U15 National League Team.
