Ryan’s Biography
Ryan attended La Costa Canyon High School, where he was named MVP twice. He then enrolled at the University of San Diego, after being recruited by a number of other schools. In his sophomore season Guy earned First Team All-WCC and 2nd Team NSCAA All-West Region honors. During his college off-season in 2006, he also played for the NPSL amateur men's team San Diego Fusion.
In the 2007 MLS SuperDraft Guy was drafted in the 2nd round (22nd overall pick) by F.C. Dallas. Despite being offered a developmental contract by Dallas, Guy sought a professional contract in Europe and he attended trials at a number of clubs, including Crystal Palace and Hannover 96 of Germany. But in February 2007 he joined St Patrick's Athletic.
Ryan made his debut for the Irish club on April 6, 2007, coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute of a 1-0 win over Galway United. In his four years at Richmond Park he made 132 league appearances and scored 24 league goals and became a firm favourite of the St Pats fans. In January 2011 Ryan left St Pats to return to America.
