Olaf’s Biography

Olaf is a Swedish defender who plays for Greek side Olympiacos.

Olaf began his career at local side Gullspang before being signed by Degerfors IF in 1996. He made 47 league appearances with Degerfors in the Allsvenskan, the top division of the Swedish league, but the club were relegated in 1997 and Olaf moved on to Stockholm side AIK.

In his only season at AIK Olaf won the Swedish league title and then moved to Spain, signing for Racing Santander where he made 98 league appearances in his three seasons at the club. In 2001 he joined English side Aston Villa and in seven seasons at Villa Park he made 260 appearances.

In the summer of 2008 Olaf signed for Italian side Juventus where he made 23 league appearances in his one season at the club. The following summer he was on the move again, this time joining Greek side Olympiacos where became a cult figure in his thee seasons with the club.

Olaf has over 100 senior caps for Sweden and has represented his country at two World Cups (2002, 2006) and three European Championships (2000, 2004, 2008).
