Michael’s Biography

Michael played with Crumlin United in 2008 and went on to be signed by Shamrock Rovers where he was a member of their 2009 A Championship winning squad. Michael never managed to break into the first team at Tallaght and, in February 2011, he signed for Mick Cooke at Monaghan United.

Michael made his league bow against Cork City at Turner's Cross on 1st April 2011, coming on as a 55th minute substitute for Shane Fitzgerald in a 2-2 draw. His first goals came on 11 June in a league game at Salthill Devon when Michael scored twice in a 5-2 win. He made 20 league appearances that year, scoring four league goals.

Michael was one of the players left without a club when Monaghan withdrew from the league citing financial pressures on 18 June 2012 and in the Autumn of 2012 he joined Leinster Senior League side Bluebell United. But in February 2013 Michael popped up at Longford Town, playing in the club's pre-season friendlies. He duly signed for the Midlanders and made his debut in an EA Cup win over Athlone Town on 11 March 2013, going on to score twice in 11 league appearances as Longford narrowly missed out on promotion after a play-off defeat to Bray Wanderers.
