Martin’s Biography

Martin began his league career with Cobh Ramblers in 2007 and made his debut on 8 May in a League Cup tie against Waterford United. He was with the club until they were forced out of league football at the end of the 2008 season. Martin joined Limerick FC in 2009 but was with the club for just two seasons, returning to join Cobh Ramblers for their 2011 A Championship season.

After a period back in Limerick with Pike Rovers, Martin signed for Cobh Ramblers in January 2013, shortly after it was confirmed that they would be returning to league football after four seasons in the wilderness. Martin made his debut for the Rams in their 5-0 win over Wexford Youths on the opening weekend of the 2013 season and played in 27 of their twenty-eight league games that year. He also contributed eight league goals in a campaign that saw Cobh finish second bottom of the First Division.

At the end of 2014 Martin left Cobh to sign for Tony Cousins at newly promoted Longford Town, ahead of their 2015 Premier Division campaign. He went on to make fifteen league appearances for the club as Longford finished sixth in the Premier Division. He left the club at the end of the season and joined Cobh Wanderers in January 2016.

Martin played in the Munster Senior League for Wanderers for three years and left for a spell at Coonagh United in 2019. He retired from the game in January 2023 after a 16-year career.
