Niall’s Biography

Niall came up through the youth ranks at Athlone Town and first played with the first team in 2008 when a serious ankle injury restricted him to just 10 league appearances.

He spent 2009 recovering his fitness at local Athlone side St Peters before re-joining the Athlone squad under manager Brendan Pace in February 2010. He made 18 league appearances that year, scoring once, in a 4-4 draw with Monaghan United on 26 June. In 2011 Niall made a further 14 league appearances for Athlone and he added 17 more in 2012.

Niall appeared 10 times in Athlone's First Division title winning campaign of 2013 under Roddy Collins, his contribution being limited due to duties abroad with the Irish army. Niall was once again part of the Athlone squad under new boss Mick Cooke when they returned to the top flight in 2014 but he appeared just twice as an unused substitute in the early weeks of the campaign.

Niall was a part of the squad for St. Peter's of Athlone in their FAI Cup game against Cork City in May 2016 before returning to Athlone Town in February 2017.

He left Athlone at the end of August 2017, returning to St Peters once again.
