Blues secure Burns for 2013 season
Published: January 20, 2013

Waterford United have confirmed the re-signing of Craig Burns for the 2013 season.

The young defender was one of the stand-out performers in last year's Blues squad, developing into an assured centre back over the course of the season, and attracting the attention of several Premier Division clubs in recent weeks.

But the Brooklyn born, Cork based defender was more than happy to return to the RSC for another season, having really enjoyed his time and his football on Suirside last year.

Craig adds strength and mobility to the heart of the defence, is equally strong in the air or with the ball at his feet, and at still only 20 years of age has the potential to further develop into a truly exceptional defender.

Manager Paul O'Brien is more than happy with Craig's return: "We are delighted that Craig has committed himself to the Blues again. He is a super young talent, had an outstanding campaign with us last year, and will be an excellent addition to the side again this season."
