First Division structure revealed

The fixtures for the Airticity League First Division were released earlier today, with the long awaited structure revealed. 

 

The First Division will comprise of eight teams; those whom didn’t achieve promotion last season, with no new additions, although if a vacancy were to arise in the First Division, the licensing applications from both Tralee Dynamos and Cobh Ramblers would be reviewed.

Salthill Devon have will line out under the name SD Galway and use Terryland Park as their home ground for the forthcoming season. The promotion/relegation playoff remains the same, with only the champions gaining automatic promotion.

 

The opening week of the season sees home ties for Limerick, Athlone Town, Mervue United and Wexford Youths. They entertain Finn Harps, SD Galway, Longford Town and Waterford United respectively.
