Mons show magic touch with new signing

Monaghan United manager Mick Cooke has further bolstered his squad ahead of the new season with the capture of goalkeeper Gabriel Sava.
The Magic Mons have been amongst the busiest teams in the off-season in terms of player recruitment and the addition of Sava indicates that their expectations for 2010 will be to morph into a real contender for promotion from the First Division.
Sava, who previously played with Drogheda United and Bray Wanderers, will have plenty of competition for the number one jersey as Cooke has brought in three new shot-stoppers.
After losing talented youngster Aaron McCarey to Wolverhampton Wanderers, it was clear that a new keeper would be needed. So that is why Sava, Austin O'Neill and Darren Kelly have all been drafted in.
Having trained with Lazio, 23-year-old Sava arrives at Gortakeegan with a high profile, but he has a lot of work to do to ensure he earns a starting spot once the season kicks off.
