Finn Harps

Winless in their last four league games, Finn Harps are hoping for a statement win against fellow strugglers, Treaty United.

Harps haven’t scored in their last three, with away defeats to Athlone Town and Cobh Ramblers preceding last week’s home loss to Cork City.

Visitors Treaty, having not won in two months, represent the ideal opportunity for Harps to regain momentum as they now trail second-placed UCD by three points.

Undermined by defensive lapses, there was encouragement to be taken from Harps’ bright start against league leaders Cork. Now, though, they need to take their chances and create more for marquee summer signing, Success Edogun.

A goal against his former club would be timely to end an eight-game drought.

Treaty United

Having flown out of the traps with three straight wins, early table toppers, Treaty have dropped to seventh, six points behind their hosts.

With only one point from their last six matches, scoring seems to be the issue, with Yousef Mahdy and Leon Kirrane the only scorers during this run.

If Tommy Barrett’s troops are to close the gap to Darren Murphy’s men, then avenging their earlier, slim defeat to Harps at Markets Field is a must in Ballybofey.

Referee: Oliver Moran.

Match Stats

Tony McNamee, Finn Harps captain, scored the winning goal eleven minutes from time in the reverse fixture.

Treaty United won their last visit to Finn Park, back in August, thanks to a Dean George strike. In all five meetings, over this and last season, the winning side has always kept a clean sheet.
